Five Vancouver Public Schools students earned honors in the annual Educational Service District 112 Regional High School Art Show:

  • Peyton Carrasco, Fort Vancouver High School Center for International Studies, won a Regional Award for “The New World Doesn’t Have Color.” Teacher: Joanne Andrew.
  • Alyssa Maggi, Vancouver School of Arts and Academics, won a Regional Award for “Catacombs.” Teacher: Crystal Zeller. Maggi also was independently selected to receive a scholarship from Pacific Northwest College of Art for their pre-college summer program.
  • Sophia Pacheco, VSAA, earned both a Regional Award and Designer’s Choice Award for “Stream.” Teacher: Crystal Zeller.
  • Mireyli Quinonez, VSAA, took home an ESD 112 Award for “Look at What You’ve Done.” Teacher: Abby Harris. Quinonez also was independently selected to receive a scholarship from Central Washington University.
  • Lillia Day, VSAA, secured a Designer’s Choice Award for “Waters.” Teacher: Crystal Zeller. Day also was independently selected to receive a scholarship from Pacific Northwest College of Art for their pre-college summer program.

Pieces were evaluated for awards based on originality, composition, emotion and technique. Regional Award winners will next compete against entries from around the state in the annual State Superintendent of Public Instruction Art Show.
