Principal’s update: February 2017

Hello Trappers!

Semester 1 has been wrapping up and we start 2nd semester on Friday, February 3, 2017. I am amazed at how fast this year is flying by. Although most students will have the same schedules for 2nd semester, we will be handing out new schedules to all students on Friday morning. All students will have a fresh start 2nd semester allowing them the opportunity to reflect on their academic performance first semester and make any changes necessary to be successful in every class. Don’t forget that we have many supports in place to help FVHS CIS students including HOMEWORK HELP every day after school in the Media Center on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and in the Courtroom on Wednesday 2:15 – 3:30 p.m.

Our staff is continuing to work together and build our skills and knowledge to meet the needs of our Trapper students. Teachers meet during early release days to work with colleagues in their content area. Additionally they receive professional development on Wednesdays and beyond the school day. Together, students and staff designed a new PRTI system to ensure that students are receiving intervention support and enhancement activi-ties every week during our QUEST time (our new name for PRTI). Students in Art, CTE and PE classes will receive QUEST time every Wednesday during class. QUEST time in Science, Social Studies and English is on Thursdays and in Math, ELL and Foreign Language on Fridays.
